Im pretty sure thursday was the day we went hiking on lookout mountain. and normally im all about taking pictures when i go hiking i mean it would make sense wouldnt it. However, someone put out the idea that we hike up the mountain without speaking and then at the top we talk and all the way down we can talk and then the hike would mean so much more to us. WRONG everyone was pretty devoted to not talking so when crosby, the kid with the pacemaker and the heart problems, needed to stop he had no idea how to signal the group with how to tell them he needed to stop. So i “kept up” until we started to actually climb rocks then i just stopped and waved the rest of the group to hike to the top. after what felt like 20 min of resting i ditched my 30 lb camera back and just took my 35mm + a 28mm/f:2.8 lens and went the rest of the way. so in short there are no digitals from the hike, please find me if you would like to see the film prints.
Fast forwarding quite a bit we are now at keynote and all the awesomeness thats around it starting with energizers. as everyone started to settle heather and patrick came out and were lying on these benches. Numa numa started and no one quite knew what to do. most everyone stood up i think and started but heather and patrick stayed on the benches and did it unenthusiastically until the refrain then they went crazy. some might say it was fepic. either way it was a funny and refreshing was to do the same old energizers weed been doing all week. but ill shut up heres some photos
Jarrett decided to wear what he called his ugliest shirt that day. id like to think that it was an awesome shirt. however he changed outta it in about 5 min so i was kinda disappointed.
^this guy was trolling around montreat. he taught me a new game called like the silly sloth or something, the goal is to make the other person laugh.
the choir sang thursday night at worship, i think this was their first time singing because i have no earlier pictures of the choir. They sang holy is the lamb, it was beautiful and made me wish i was a part of the choir singing it with them. i was reluctant to join though because when i was there week 2 the choir was small. its not that i didnt want to do the unpopular thing, well sorta that was true, i just wanted to meet as many new people as possible. hopefully you can put all of this together and see why i didnt want to join the choir. next year i know now and will.
the talent show as always was thursday night as well. your lovely planning team were the host. I have to say though week two did better than week three. So week three i challenge you to STEP YO GAME UP. but really, im not saying yall who went up arnt talented and you did something i cant do, which is perform. all im saying is week 2 did better. but thats whatever.
this new dance craze came out right before week three. it was called the bernie. it kinda went viral within montreat. its a really easy and funny dance you just lean back and fail your arms like they have no bones. so at one point in the show the planning team, jarrett, walnes, and jeffrey all did the bernie on stage. it was quite a sight.
this is my “look at me i can take an out of focus hipster photo” i really wasnt trying to be artsy at all, i was trying to take a photo of the windows but its so dark in anderson that it couldnt focus so this is the first thing it took before i switched to manual focus, i kept it because it was simple and i wanted to use it as my desktop backround. so enjoy
every year the one (well six) times the av and aud crew get recognition is the av/aud olympics. it is literally the same routine every week every year except for the video before hand which is always cool/funny. maybe someday ill be at the top of that dangerous pyramid.
despite what i said earlier one group that stood out to me was those pictured directly above. they sang little lion man by mumford and son. granted they were not mumford and sons but they still were pretty damn good plus i am just partial to folk music and love all of mumford and sons music.
and thats it. by the time the talent show ended it was like 11 o clock which was curfew so we just drove home and probably stayed up till like 1230 doing devotions because thats what the girls liked to do. (will and i had no say.)
till next time
